The greater Fayetteville region of North Carolina is a community of history, heroes and a hometown feeling!! The community encompasses North Carolina's largest city just-off I-95 and the vast majority of the things to see and do are within a few minutes drive of I-95. We have 5900 hotel rooms at nearly 60 properties - and we look forward to welcoming you to our community.

Are you traveling I-95? Here are a few things you can experience with a stop in Fayetteville or Cumberland County:

ZipQuest is a 2.5 hour treetop tour that thrills participants with eight zip lines and three "Indiana Jones" canopy bridges. The course covers remarkably steep and variety topography, including Carvers Falls, a 20 foot waterfall , the largest in the central or eastern Carolinas. Names one of the "Top 10 Ziplines in the US" by USA Today, ZipQuest added a new component to their offerings in the Spring of 2013 - NightQuest. That's right - night time zipping!

The Airborne & Special Operations Museum, the only US Army museum NOT on an army base, is located in downtown Fayetteville, minutes from I-95. The Smithsonian-quality museum includes real equipment, life-size dioramas, multi-media exhibits and a Vista-scope large screen theater and motion simulator.
Directly across the parking lot, NC Veterans Park pays homage to state veterans from all branches of service.

Located on Business I-95, Cape Fear Botanical Garden offers seventy-eight acres nestled between the Cape Fear River and Cross Creek. Founded in 1989, the Garden now boasts more than 2,000 varieties of ornamental plants and has several specialty gardens, including Camellia, Daylily and Hosta gardens. The Wyatt Visitors Pavilion, with food vendors, art displays and a gift shop, opened in 2011.

The Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors bureau has taken the breadth of our community's history and packaged it into 15 individually-themed Cultural Heritage Driving Trails. Themes such American Independence, Patriots, Past & Present, African-American Heritage and Gaelic Beginnings take visitors on a tour tailored to their particular interest. Learn more HERE

The Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex is three historic resources in one setting. The museum, a branch of the NC Museum of history, tells the history of SE North Carolina from Native American times to the early 20th century. The 1897 EA Poe House interprets life at the turn of the 20th century and Arsenal Park houses the remains of the Fayetteville Arsenal. General Sherman destroyed the arsenal during his infamous Carolinas Campaign.

Its a little-known fact that Fort Bragg is an accessible army base. Any US Citizen, with a picture ID, can visit the base after stopping at one of two gates. Two museums - the 82nd Airborne Division War Memorial Museum and the JFK Special Warfare Museum; along with statues and memorials, are located on Fort Bragg. HERE is a self-guided fort Bragg Tour.
