There is always time for an ice cream stop when you are on a road trip. Whether you've got the kids in the back or just want a treat for yourself, head to Lickety Splits Ice Cream Shop in Rhode Island. It will not take much time - just drive right up to the stand and place your order at the window. There's plenty of parking in the lot.

It's great to support a local American business, and Lickety Splits Ice Cream Shop serves up yummy Bliss Bros. ice cream, which has been churning out fresh ice cream flavors since 1924. Every flavor you could possibly want is here, since they rotate from their huge assortment of 45 hard ice creams and 35 soft flavors.

Flavors you would always find on the menu would be: French vanilla, chocolate, coffee, strawberry, peanut butter cup, moose tracks, black raspberry, pistachio, coconut almond bar, cookie dough, caramel cashew crunch, milky way, monster mash, cake batter, brownie batter, black raspberry chocolate chip yogurt, peanut butter cup yogurt, salted chocolate caramel pretzel, bourbon pistachio caramel brittle, butter pecan, chocolate peanut butter cookie dough, extreme chocolate and of course, Oreo.

Some wild flavors you could come across might be the purple cow, which is black raspberry ice cream with white chocolate and milk chocolate chips, or monster mash made with oreo ice cream, a caramel swirl, and then some M&M's and whoppers for crunch. They even have interesting no sugar flavors: caramel pecan or moose tracks, which is a fudge swirl and mini peanut butter cups, or you can lick no-fat frozen yogurt like Kahlua fudge.

On the menu there's sorbet, sherbet, slushies, smoothies, sundaes, real root beer floats and of course, cabinets, which is what Rhode Islanders call milk shakes. The traditional Rhode Island flavor is coffee, but you can get them in your favorite flavor too.
